What many fans fail to realize is that the original vision was fairly ambitious. For instance, the game was meant to include more than one subject. But it’s not uncommon for an artist to adjust their expectations and modify the timeframe.
In this case, the mastermind decided to prioritize extracurricular activities instead. Their purpose is to diversify the single-player campaign with voluntary storylines and side-quests. Completing them awards bonus points and provides extra items for free.

Aside from the name and the backdrop, the existing implementations are nothing alike. Both start by exiting the main building and approaching the bus. This is where the similarities end.
The older one was initially available as a separate demo. Up until v.0.3 it was part of the standard build. It retains the familiar mechanics and controls.

BB+ introduced a fresh spin on the same premise. It’s reminiscent of educational puzzles intended for children. The 90s-inspired pre-rendered 2D graphics have a recognizable vibe.
The challenge is similar to that of the predecessor, but the execution is not:
- Keep several fires burning for as long as possible
- The woodpiles descending from the top of the screen are marked with math problems
- Solve them and move the campfires around so that the answers would fit
- Performing the task correctly increases the score, failing lowers it
The job is not as trivial as it may seem. There is barely enough time to do the necessary manipulations. The equations become harder over time, and additional campfires appear, complicating things even further. But those who manage to finish with 3 stars receive 300 YTPs and handy items.

The legacy Baldis Basics Field Trip had a surprisingly normal conclusion. Unlocking it is not especially difficult. Simply keep exploring the surroundings and searching for fuel. Gather sticks, return to the starting position, and feed them to the fire. When the timer reaches the zero mark, a congratulatory message should pop up. It praises the user for being responsible, displays the prizes and the final score.
However, if the fire dies, Mr. B’s demeanor changes drastically. Once he catches the protagonist, the mission ends prematurely. The current reimagining is almost identical in this regard. Fulfil the requirements and try to avoid making mistakes. Eventually, a blackboard with some text written in chalk will appear. The exact phrasing depends on the result.
One option is: ‘Now THAT’s a new high score!!!’ Another is: ‘You’ve done it! The fires are really warm!’ To unlock the latter, strive to do perfectly and get a 3-star rating.
